The Moving Butler© is the web-based software for moving companies.
Access your software from any computer, anytime, anywhere using your web browser.
There is no need to install the software on every computer
in your office, and it requires no training; most of our clients begin to implement The Moving Butler within
the first day of use, without assistance. We provide email support for the product as long as it
is in use.
The Moving Butler software is absolutely free, and may be downloaded at either of the following locations.
IIS Web Server (copy all files to single directory, goto readme.txt) : iis-win32mb.rar
Apache Web Server (copy entire contents of package to CD or goto Autorun/autorun.exe: apache-win32mb.zip

We provide support by email, usually within 24 hours, and we accept donations for the software package.

Search Customers:
- Search for customers, by first name, last, first & last, or by customer ID number.
- Customer search software will give matching results or prompt for new customer creation.
- Shortcut to view form directly with CID.
Search Schedule:
- Search schedule by year, by month-year, by exact day, or by customer ID number.
- Schedule search will give matching results by crew and in order of scheduled time.
- Schedule provides a list of details you select with a link to each customers form.
- Schedule search provides total of all searched moves.
Create Customer:
- Create new customers; fill in customer information while on the phone. Click a button to add customer.
- Create software assigns customer ID numbers (CID) to new customer & adds them to cust. search files.
Form:
- View a form for a new customer or an updated customer. All info for customer is on their one form.
- New customers will use default form with your default points / dollar amount.
- Updated customers will use saved form with previously entered points, quantities, and charges.
- Quick links to navigate around the form easily while talking to customers.
- Change quantities or points for each item directly from the form.
- Extensive list of items that covers most customers, divided by room.
- Over-ride pricing for special circumstances, automatic over-ride for hourly customers.
- Enter Packing quantities for four different types of box packing.
- Book moves, packing and estimates on the booking schedule.
- Other items box for items not included in our list.
- Shortcut to schedule search.
Form Save:
- Displays customer letter with customer information, ready for email.
- Calculates weight, and totals form quantities X points + base (X or +) stair charges.
- Updates customer search and booking files with contact information entered on form.
- Provides a list of variables to be used with customer letter.
- Determines packing if entered, and displays each type w/total and final total.
- Displays clickable email link directly to customers email entered on form.
Customer Letter:
- Enter HTML code into the letter admin software to tailor the letter to your company.
- Include your logos, contact information, numbers etc.
- Use our built in variables to display customer specific information with each form save.
- Variables- packing, total, weight, items list, first/last name, CID, stair charge,
- Cont. - customer email link, rep initials, rep signature, & tariff calculators.
Points:
- Using the points admin tool, you can set default values to each of the items on the form.
- Set the text you want to use for your hourly customers.
- Set the base charge you would like to use for all new customers.
Cubes:
- Using the cubes admin tool, set the cubes for each item on the list.
- Enter conversion rate to be multiplied to total cubes to find weight.
Tariff Calculators:
- There are two tariff calculators, Intrastate and Interstate.
- Both calculators allow entry of mileage, weight, and a percentage of tariff discounts.
- Intrastate - displays price per 100, tariff, % of discount, and total.
- Interstate- displays tariff and the page it was found, % of discount, and total
- Currently, no admin tools exist to reassign default tariff rates.
Lock Database:
- Using the lock-unlock admin tool, from any computer you can prevent access to your system.
- Lock the database from your INTERNET CELL PHONE.
Other:
- We have been developing more software scripts to compliment The Moving Butler.
- Currently, The Moving Butler is composed of 26 software scripts.
- Upon completion of new software scripts, they will be installed on the server of each our customers.
Once installed:
- The software will automatically enter customer information on each letter when updating.
- We will be available by email to answer how to questions, although we
designed the software to be easy for a beginner computer operator.

Note from the author;
I have been involved with the moving industry for 10 years.
I have been a mover, a booking agent, and I am the previous owner of small moving company.
Since my shift from the moving industry to software design and implementation, I have developed this
system to aid my friends in the business.
Working extensively and utilizing my own experience, I designed this system to be user friendly for
the average booking agent. Within a month of use, I can honestly say that most if not all of my
customers say that they did not know how they operated without this software, and would never go back
to using file cabinets and expandable folders. Even customers who have purchased other software programs
for up to $8,000, say this software is much easier to use, and has all the important features they need.
